The 10v10 3-3-3 formation
The 3-3-3 lays ten-a-side players out in three even lines of three in front of the goalkeeper. Its symmetry makes it simple to teach, and every player has a teammate to either side and one in front or behind.
Strengths
- Triangles all over the pitch for short passing
- Three forwards provide width in attack
- Even spread makes positions easy to remember
Weaknesses
- No extra player in any one line, so nowhere is overloaded
- Each line of three can be pulled apart by a team that switches play quickly
Best for
Developing teams learning positional play and passing in triangles.
Coaching tip
Coach the three lines to move up and down the field together, no more than a short pass apart.

Want it filled in for you?
The free SOXY app does the parts a web page cannot. It keeps your roster, knows which players have said they are coming, and fills all four quarters so playing time comes out even. It rotates the goalkeeper, lets you drag players between positions, saves a lineup for every game, and prints this same sheet with the field, both coaches and the referees already on it.
