Why group texts fail soccer teams

A group text treats every message the same. The coach's note about a field change is one bubble among forty about carpools and lost water bottles, and a parent who joins mid-season sees none of the history. Half the team ends up muting it, which is exactly when the important message arrives.

A board for what matters

The SOXY board is the team's front page. Coaches and parents post updates, and replies stay attached to the post they belong to. A coach can pin an announcement to the top so it does not scroll away.

  • Comments and reactions on every post, so a thumbs-up replaces twenty "got it" messages.
  • Polls for quick decisions like party dates or team-photo timing.
  • Photos and videos that also land in a shared team gallery.
  • Mentions to get one person's attention without alerting everyone.
  • Link previews for the sign-up form or the highlight video.

Direct messages when it is not for everyone

A question about one player, or sorting out a ride, does not belong on the board. SOXY has private messages between team members, with photo attachments, reactions and the option to edit a message just after sending.

Notifications parents control

Each person chooses what they are notified about: new posts, comments, messages, schedule changes. Role tags show who is the coach or team parent, so it is clear whose message is official. A bell keeps a history of what you missed, and tapping an item opens the exact conversation.

How it works

  1. The coach posts an update, a poll or photos to the board.
  2. Families comment or react on that post.
  3. Use a direct message for anything private.
  4. Each parent sets which notifications they want.

Questions

Is this a replacement for our team group text?

That is how most teams use it. Updates live on the board where they can be found later, replies stay with the post they answer, and private conversations move to direct messages.

Can parents message the coach privately?

Yes. Any team member can start a direct message with the coach or with another parent on the team.

Can we share photos from games?

Yes. Photos and videos can be posted to the board, and they are collected in a team gallery that everyone on the team can browse.

Who can see our team's messages?

Only people who have joined your team with an invite. Direct messages are visible only to the people in that conversation.
